Noah's Ark - at last!
05.31.04 (1:22 am) [edit]
i cant wait for the expedition to find Noah's Ark to begin this June. i know there's been numerous books and tv shows elaborating on previous or eye witness finds BUT this time its going to be great - i can feel it!
if i remember rightly it is said that those who had encounters with the Ark before had had bad things happen to them. I hope thats just someone trying to spook things up. I hope Dr Aslan and his team will make it through alright!
why is the find so important ?! - i hear you say. well, its hard to explain why the superbowl final is a must or getting to be the football world cup host is great and knowing your true parents is a dying quest worth pursuing. I dont really know why but the Ark should remind us all that somethings are meant to be and is there right in front of us - if only we care to look.
whilst scientist have acknowledge the possibility of a huge flood occuring in that area, they are reluctant to accept that the flood is as that told in the biblical school. but then we all know scientist dont we - they good up to a certain point only i.e. they'll only know things that God graces them to find and understand.
anyway, i wont rant into the unending circle of discussing where we came from or where we going to. Suffice for me to say that i will be glued to the TV when National Geographic televise the historic Ark find come June. Then somehow we can all go off the our summer holidays somewhat more assured that God is watching us!

AMERICA THE GREAT?
05.29.04 (7:51 pm) [edit]
im sure most of us remember the disney's movie "The American Tail". What i 'remember' most myself is the wordings that the mice sang as they dream of going to America... " and roads are made of cheese " ..
anyway, america after 200 hundred years of revolution has some what come full circle really. King George's Red Coats were the enemy then. Ask the somalian, afghans, iraqis and oh yes the vietcongs (in the 60s) ... who are their enemy... lo and behold... the Yankees!
but really is that so surprising... people in power often forget that they or rather their ancestors were once little people too. that oppression need not be a boot on your throat ( of course the abu gharib's detainees would tell you different..)
is it so hard to understand that no one but no one likes someone else to come into your house to search for proofs of your allegience to something or someone. After all, arent we all talking about democracy and freedom.. and the respect of human rights? what is life if we all have to be in george orwell's [b]'1984'[/b]?
[url=www.gradesaver.com/ClassicNotes/Titles/1 984/about.html ]orwell[/url]
its sad that once people get richness and power above and beyond their imagination, arrogance sets in faster than the super-set concrete.
it is all too late? shall america too one day fall as the roman empire did? hey look, the soviet bear isnt much now is it - now that it has been caged in the american zoo of freedom!
is it true that only 16% of the population votes in an American president? heck, we should give Arnold a chance - at least he has the experience of beating an alien being i.e. a hero of mankind. Reegan used his movie experiences to govern - why not another? Oh, i dont if Eastwood (Dirty Harry) had a go - at least he knows how to differentiate the bad guys from the innocent!
Ask the lady in front of New York harbour what is america's greatness - and she'll say "Liberty, Freedom & Equality" - the question is does it apply only in America?
..and so ...on and on..we say

technology - stolen!!
05.26.04 (11:39 pm) [edit]
came in this morning and the calculator that i and my roomate were sharing is now GONE! can you believe it? i mean we've here almost 6 months and not a dime was lost and then this hot shot lawyer moves in across our room and hey presto ... our calculator's gone.
of course im not saying the lawyer did but man, who are his clients? your guess is as good as mine... but i sure can testify that one of them is a thief!
i mean we need that calculator as much as we need a pillow to sleep on. yes we can sleep on our hands but is that really comfortable! i know some people dont need pillows and i suppose some dont need calculators too but heck how do you even begin to calculate fractions, and interest or even divide 7 digits by 3 digits.
im so sad - sad that in this modern days there are still thiefs in the office and also sad that we depend so much on technology that our brains are mostly used for fantasizing something or someone rather than for the more challenging stuff.

r u worth something?
05.25.04 (4:21 pm) [edit]
yesterday got the client's appointment letter i'd been waiting for months on end. today i feel at least a third more worthy than the day b'fore y'terday. sure i have some 12 mths to go before my contract ends but doing nothing day in day out sure sucks.
after all, the boss may chop off the contract for reasons that needn't be explained. now at at least he knows and i know that i'm worth something!
now all i have to worry is how to go about and do the job so that everybody can be happy.
say, boss, can i get an advance?

TROY
05.24.04 (6:52 am) [edit]
for what its worth TROY gave me a chance to dream of a useful existence. not that im saying im useless now - i mean most of us are just here to fill the spaces! i really doubt if the majority of use can really claim their worth as a human being.
not many will or can ever be mother teresa, princess diana or hector or achilles. most of us dont even try - after all who cares what happens to the next guy or girl! for if we did we could never let all the starvation and killing and stealing and raping that goes on around us.
its said that the indians (in india) enjoy Bollywood movies becoz the movies lets them forget their troubles for 3-4 hours per viewing. are we any different?

the passion of christ
05.24.04 (6:26 am) [edit]
just saw the mel gibson movie and all i can say is that its very gruesome. of course the blood and pain is horrible but can you people even phantom the 'eagerness' of the jewish elders to prosecute jesus. i mean granted jews are clever people but to twist and turn so that the romans do their dirty work.
now its sharon using bush or is it the other way round? anyway, its the palestinians and the iraqis, just recently the afghans who are the target dummies. i mean the israel army can kill anybody and its A ok. The American soldiers (and the British) can do what they like to the iraqis and afghans and still remain immune from prosecution. Hooray for democracy and that might is right!
what sort of world are we living in? it makes me wish that 'Independence Day' or 'MIB' or 'Deep Impact' be true - at least then we would have humanity against the odds instead of those 'hypocrite' politicians that tell us they know best.
